In an effort to provide availability to a variety of potential art students, Art ‘N Oddities will be offering a new type of class schedule. The class description, cost and length of time to complete a project is listed with each class. A student can call and make arrangements for class and arrange a day & time that is convenient for both the student and the instructor.
Just for the Garden
... or any place it ‘s needed.
Think Spring, Summer! Learn how to take an ordinary pine night stand and create a fun indoor/outdoor planter. Students will discuss design and color. Then, they will learn about different techniques for paint application - not just brushes. Students will be provided with a nightstand that is ready to paint. Students will be asked to supply their own paint and brushes. Class will consist of five two hour sessions. Class cost: $120.00
"Drawing Classes"
There will be four consecutive weekly classes of two hours. In these classes students will explore the fundamentals of drawing in a variety of medias. Students will "play" with different types of line, shapes-both 2D and 3D, perspective, proportion, texture, and a variety of subject matter.
Supplies will be provided. Class cost: $95.00
Let’s Paint ...!
There will be four consecutive weekly classes of two hours. In these classes students will use acrylic paint on paper and canvas. They will learn about color theory and painting techniques to produce a number of compositions. Mixed media will also be explored allowing the student a greater flexibility in expression and just plain fun!
Supplies will be provided. Class cost: $125.00

Goblet Painting
Learn how to paint glassware with the no bake method. In one two hour session you will learn a variety techniques for painting on glassware. Each student will have the opportunity to create a pair of goblets, paint and brushes provided. Class cost: $25.00.
Out of the Box & Into the Sea - Portholes
Students can go one step beyond and into the deep. In two 2 hour
sessions students can step into the world of reality & fantasy
combined. Perfect follow up for “Where do those Ideas come from?”
Portholes, paints and brushes provided, student brings their
imagination and whatever photos for reference. Class cost: $55.00
Painted Chairs
This is the perfect opportunity for an individual with a tired wooden chair to breath new life into it. The student learns how to prep an old chair for painting, prime it
and create a design that is suitable for it’s new purpose. Student must provide
chair in reasonably good condition(we do not have the time to repair). Primer, paint, and varnish will be provided. Basic brushes are also available. The first session is three hours the remaining three sessions are each two hours.
Class cost: $135.00
Mirror, Mirror
A project that would be great to do as a gift. 10 inch square mirror and frame with faux mosaic. Keeping the concept of “going green,” the mosaic effect is done with old magazines pictures, photographs and specialty papers. Great results, you just need a little patience. The class consists of one 2.5 hour session. All supplies provided, unless you want to use some personal photographs.
Class cost: $25.00

Fun Furniture Accents!

Grab Bag Illustration
Get your creative juices flowing! This class is designed for comic relief or just for fun! Students are given a papaer lunch bag full of assorted household items, sponges, clothespins, screws, push pins, forks to name a few. Your assignment, should you decide to accept the challenge is to create an illustration using these items as the basis for your illustration.
Pencil, colored pencil and ink on paper are the media. Techniques using these items will be demonstrated. Bring the right side of your brain for fun and creativity.
Class session is 2 hours. Class cost: $13.50.
Open Studio
Do you have an art project that is sitting gathering dust because you just don’t know what to do next? Do you have an art project that you would like to start, but don’t know where to begin? Open Studio can help. It provides a two hour session for you to work with an art instructor that can help with that learning curve and get you under way.
Cost per 2 hour session $20.00.

Oil Painting
Learn how to paint with water soluble oil paints. Paint on canvas or gesso panels. Each project is approached on an individual basis, allowing the student to pursue their painting dreams. First canvas panel is supplied along with limited colors of oils. Student must purchase their own brushes and palette. Class consists of four two hour sessions. Class cost: $125.00.
Pastel Painting
Experience the joy of painting with pastels. It’s like regular painting, only better! You get to use your fingers, elbows and toes(if you are limber enough). First pastel painting, paper and limited color of pastels supplied.

Mini Let’s Paint ...!
There will be two consecutive classes of two hours. This is for the person that would like just a taste of acrylic painting. In these classes, students will get an exposure to color theory and composition. They will have a chose of subject matter from the photo binder provided. The painting will be on an 8” X 10” canvas. Supplies will be provided. Class cost: $65.00
